HELL LANE: A BARTON STACEY MYSTERY
When London detective Barton Stacey comes to the West Country to solve a strange mystery, is he really ready to face the dark secrets he is about to discover, hidden in the deepest holloways of the English countryside?
Hell Lane: A Barton Stacey mystery will be a (fun?) tribute to The Hound of the Baskervilles, and to various detectives Miss Gish has encountered in her reading life. It will be set either in the 30s, 40s or 50s, and will have an almost "grotesque" Film Noir quality... or rather, Rural Noir... It will definitely be a little bonkers, with a touch of Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie and PG Wodehouse thrown into the mix...
Of course, the title is inspired by the holloway of the same name located between North Chideock and the Symondsbury estate in Dorset.
