The article written by the lovely Hannah Marsh from The Echo is in the weekend pull-out today! They've managed to put my picture in three different places in the paper... We love the angle of the article, as it explains really well how I Am a Muse and Arcane Publishing came to be!

"I was the first sale Miss Gish made at the Secret Vintage Fair in Colchester back at Easter… ‘I am a Muse’ appealed to my sense of drama and called out to my curiosity. My intention was to read and write a review pretty quickly. But, nothing could have prepared me for the emotional journey I was about to undertake! Miss Gish has managed to find the pure essence of Alda Thunberg’s grief and distress and it was painful to read at times - this is no criticism but the highest form of praise! The journey’s of self exploration that both women undertake is beautifully related and wholly believable. Miss Gish’s portrayal of the intensity of the relationship between artist and muse is wonderfully portrayed and I started to care about these characters and what happens to them; on several occasions finding myself either laughing or crying. Arcane Publishing has just purchased The Insider's Guide to Independent Publishing published by the Independent Publishers's Guild.
Concise and clear, it covers the basic aspects of setting up as a publisher today. We will be using it as a guide and reference from now on... 5/17/2013 Event tomorrow! Arcane Publishing will be at Dotty Sparkle's Vintage and Modern fair tomorrow in Thorpe Bay, Essex.
Free entry! We will be sharing a stall with the talented designer Matt ArtPix who does all the design for Arcane Publishing! We will be promoting I Am a Muse and selling copies at £6 (that's a discount of £1.99!). Arcane Publishing also sells great second-hand books: cinema, entertainment, fantasy, children's books, music... We are also building up a collection of great vintage novels. We might put them up on sale on day! 5/7/2013 Legal Deposit LibrariesJust to show that we have a lot yet to learn about publishing here at Arcane Publishing! We have received today a request from the ALDL (Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries) for five copies of I Am a Muse. We only knew about sending a copy to The British Library, but didn't know about our books having to be made available to the Bodleian Library Oxford University, The Cambridge University Library, National Library of Scotland and Trinity College Dublin!
It feels odd, but satisfying. So Arcane Publishing will be back to the Post Office this week! |
