The ArtPix/Arcane team is prepping for yet another trip to Dorset to put some new stock in after a successful summer at The Customs House in West Bay! Matt ArtPix's retro football collages and packages have been incredibly successful, as well as his other vintage/antiques items. We are also really pleased to say that sales of second-hand books have really picked up this summer, with people loving anything to do with Sherlock Holmes: the Sherlock books never stays more than a week or two when they make their appearance on the shelves! And therefore, we are putting some more in there (see new stock below!)! We pride ourselves on picking our vintage and second-hand books with care; our HQ is full of boxes packed with rare and interesting volumes... We have yet another fantastically eclectic pile of books coming to the unit on 22nd October! But first, here's our new version of the laminated poster for the unit! Thank you Matt ArtPix! And now, the books which will be making their way to Dorset soon! Books about classic male icons never stay very long on our shelves... Here are three new volumes about some iconic American actors! Due to popular demand, here are three more volumes of Sherlock Holmes/Sherlock Holmes-related books! All from the 1970s & first editions. Cinema icons like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe are always popular; and this time, I am adding an iconic (and infamous) figure of the grunge era, Courtney Love! And if you love westerns, we have a trio of lovely hardbacks for you in a Westerns Triple Collection! Talking about popular culture icons... How about a fab full-colour James Bond book for real fans of the spy? Or are you interested in how Catwoman came into being? If you have seen the Hitchcock movie of The Thirty-Nine Steps and the successful West End play, you might wish to read the original story? And if you like your classic movie icons quite formidable, we have a fantastic Bette Davis book for you. We will also be adding a colourful guide to comics and an extra footie book! You will find these gems in our unit on the second floor of The Customs House in West Bay, Dorset, from 22nd October - we will be at the unit on that day working on the display!
Last weekend, the Arcane team spent most of the weekend at the end of Southend pier for Sound of the Thames Delta (part of the Estuary Festival).
