Southend, boom town?

New event tomorrow!

Tomorrow, you will find Arcane Publishing on one corner of Matt ArtPix's stall at Bobby's Girl Vintage fair in Chelmsford.
We will be selling I Am a Muse at the special fair price of £6, as well as a great range of pretty special second-hand books. Here is a selection of some of the volumes we will have on sale tomorrow:

Selling the books...

Arcane Publishing has decided not to approach any more independent bookshops for I Am a Muse. It is far too time consuming, and we are not convinced that there's a lot in it for Arcane Publishing.
So instead, we will carry on selling the books ourselves face to face - alongside our second-hand books.
The trick is to find events/markets in London that would take on book stalls! We really wanted to try the Goldsmith Row book market this spring, but it looks like it's not happening this year. We'll be looking into Spitalfields and Brick Lane in the first instance. First email has been sent to Old Spitalfields market... We are looking at starting in December 2013/January 2014...
Wish us luck!

*Update 26/07/2013: it looks like I Am a Muse might make an appearance at the Old Spitalfields Market in December. No date yet, but I will post it when I've booked in November. This will be a good trial for us, and if it proves to be a positive experience, then Arcane Publishing might trade regularly in the East End! :-)

Paper wins and other things...

We at Arcane Publishing, have always thought that e-books were an aberration. We do not publish e-books!

For the past ten months or so, Arcane Publishing has been testing the waters as a seller of second-hand books, and we love it so much that we will be expanding that side of the venture in the forthcoming months.

Over the summer, we will add a new page to this very website and start listing the wonderful second-hand volumes we have for sale.
We are planning on having our own stall at events from 2014, but in the meantime, go to our Events page to see where you will find Arcane Publishing and Matt ArtPix sharing a stall!

In more exciting news, we have now sent Carya Gish's biography and author photos - taken by the ever wonderful Matt ArtPix -to Metal Southend; we have been told they will be used for the promotion of the Shorelines literary festival online and in printed literature. We are thrilled to be part of what promises to be a cracking event!

I Am a Muse review in!

There was a lovely review of I Am a Muse in the Village Green special edition of the culture magazine Level 4.

We had also paid for an advert in the mag - seen below, strategically placed opposite the review!

Our designer extraordinaire Matt ArtPix also had an ad for his vintage-inspired art! :-)

Oh, and we had a lovely day...

A bit more promo!

This Saturday is Village Green, the arts and music festival organised by Metal Southend.
The culture magazine Level 4 has produced a pocket edition of the mag, and in there, you should find a review of I Am a Muse, as well as an ad for Arcane Publishing and one for Matt ArtPix!

New event!

Tomorrow, Sunday 7th July, Arcane Publishing will be at the Maldon Motor Show. We will not be selling I Am a Muse, but we will have our great range of second-hand books: cinema, entertainment, classic cars, glamourous Hollywood stars, football,... And of course, Matt ArtPix will be selling his range of vintage-inspired art (read his blog about the event HERE)!

Next week, we will be posting some exciting news about I Am a Muse and we will start the count down to Shorelines: literature festival of the sea!
