Back to Old Spitalfields - more stock!

So this Saturday, Arcane Publishing will be back in London at So Vintage London, Old Spitalfields market!
Our stock will be a bit different this time: we have a few new things in stock (see our previous blog) and we are presenting a few items from our French language stock!

Ennio Morricone original movie scores, French import, 70s

A Clockwork Orange, French "Orange mecanique" , 1972

A small selection of French books: Jean Genet's classics "The Balcony" and "Our Lady of the Flowers", a book by French fantasy/sci-fi writer Serge Brussolo and a "celebrity action" novel from the 1990s.

Do you like comics? We'll bring a few French vintage ones on Saturday!
We have one Asterix from 1980...

Some gorgeous Olivier Rameau comics (1984-1985), full of wonderful adventures made of dreams, fantastical characters and poetry. A real treat!

Love going to gigs? Then read the hilarious "L'Enfer des Concerts", a comic about gig-going and popular culture in 1999!

Tempted? We have more surprises in stock which we will bring with us!

New stock in!

We got some new stock at the weekend, and we will be taking a few items to the So Vintage London market at Old Spitalfields on 2nd August.

First up is a fantastic "exterior and interior" book, mixing architecture, interior design and lifestyle: "The House Book" (1978 edition) by the iconic designer and founder of Habitat, Terence Conran. A must for all interior design nuts in love with the 1970s!

For lovers of 1960s music, we have a book telling you all about the 100 great albums of the decade... We have at least two of them and they will be on our stall! (we might have a few more, we'll check!).

If you like sci-fi novels, we have come across some cool paperbacks!
The Ganymede Takeover by iconic sci-fi writer Philip K.Dick (with Ray Nelson), 1967 edition.
Windhaven by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin (with Lisa Tuttle), 1988, 1st VGSF edition.
Star Winds by Barrington J. Bayley (1978, 1st printing)

The Book of Thoth is on schedule!

Yesterday, Matt ArtPix finished the typesetting of The Book of Thoth. Now it's Miss Gish's turn to read through and make a few corrections and adjustments. Matt ArtPix will now finish off the cover design and we hope to have everything ready to go to the printers around 25th September after our much deserved holiday! We are on schedule, and it is getting very exciting! The book looks terrific!

This item will be for sale on our stall at So Vintage London at Old Spitalfields on 2nd August, alongside L'Oiseau du Nord et l'oiseau du soleil narrated by Grace of Monaco and the Woodstock record set.

New stock: something different...

A new, very special item has now been added to our stock.
If you have a child in love with wonderful stories, this is one for you!

This is the story "L'Oiseau du Nord et l'Oiseau du Sud" / "The Snow Bird and the Sun Bird" narrated by Grace Kelly of Monaco! This is a bilingual vinyl from 1970, recorded by Grace of Monaco, formerly movie star Grace Kelly in two languages, French and English. There is also the illustrated book of the story in both languages; the images are by prolific Belgian artist Nadine Forster (linked article is in French).

This comes from Miss Gish's personal collection. As a child, she already dreamt of becoming a writer and adored books and stories, and she has dozens of them, unfortunately mostly in French...

This is a genuinely lovely item that will enchant any story-loving child and adult!

So Vintage London at Old Spitalfields - pictures!

Matt ArtPix and Arcane Publishing had a great day at Old Spitalfields market on Saturday, our first one in this London location.
The logistics were suprisingly easy to work out: take A13, arrive.
There was a handy car park round the corner, and our stalls were spacious, with loads of leg room and freedom of movement around the space.
Old Spitalfields is a stimulating environment to trade in and we will be back on August 2nd for another So Vintage London event with a different layout for the stalls and slightly different stocks - it's important to always refresh and try new things out! We are already working on it!

We hope to trade regularly at Old Spitalfields in the future, watch this space...

Festival music!

So it's only two days until So Vintage London at Old Spitalfields on Saturday 5th July (11am to 5pm).

We're ready, all our stock and display items lined up in the flat... See our stock HERE, Matt ArtPix's blog about the market HERE.

We will also have copies of I Am a Muse for sale at the special event price of £6 (its RRP is £7.99).

We will bring something to fit the festival theme of the day: a French import 3 record-set of Woodstock Festival, 1970. Who wants it? It is in GOOD condition and plays well.

And we will have flyers for the brilliant Village Green festival in Southend: 10 hours of art, music, vintage and literature for only £10!
