10/31/2014 0 Comments The Right Place Darkest Skies by Sam Cannon Miss Gish has been working hard on plotting, characterization and research for her third novel, The Right Place. There is still a lot to do before starting writing, but it is going rather well.
Next week, she will update The Right Place page on her website, adding brand new pictures of Abbotsbury and St Catherine's chapel. In the forthcoming weeks, we will also (finally!) brief the artist who will be doing the cover artwork: the fab Sam Cannon. Sam is a truly talented painter who lives and works in West Dorset. There might be some very exciting news regarding The Right Place in early 2015; we are working really hard behind the scenes to make this happen.

Arcane Publishing will be back at So Vintage London, Old Spitalfields market in London this Saturday. It's from 11am to 5pm and it's free entry! As usual, we will be next to Matt ArtPix's colourful stall and we will have lots of lovely stuff for you. Once again, we will be concentrating on fashion for So Vintage, with some gorgeous second-hand books! We will also have copies of I Am a Muse on sale but it is still too early for The Book of Thoth which is being printed as I type this! We should have the books with us for our next fair, Monica's Fair in Gravesend on 8th November. We did a more detailed blog about our new stock back in September, so go HERE to know more... We will also have some great comic books! And... We will for the first time feature an artist on our stall! Our first novel, I Am a Muse, features a gorgeous illustration by French artist Sabine T, who has now started a handmade/craft project and has a lovely shop on Etsy, Sabine T Handmade. I am a French artist originally from Paris, now based in a rural part of Aberdeenshire, near the Cairngorms National Park and an hour away from the North Sea. A small selection of Sabine's work will be available on the Arcane Publishing stall this Saturday!    10/29/2014 0 Comments The Book of Thoth extras...
The Book of Thoth is with the printers and we have been told that we would get the books by end of next week. We are waiting for confirmation, but in the meantime, we have been busy thinking about what we could give away with the books as a thank you to our customers.
So the first thing we will do is give away one 1920s Dazzling Decades card by Matt ArtPix (also Arcane's designer and typesetter!). All the items featured on the card are part of Matt's personal collection and also his own photos. Well, we have just finished checking the ready-for-print files of The Book of Thoth. Tomorrow morning, they will go to our printers Bell and Bain...
Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. We will be selling the book at a pre-pub date special price online and also at our stalls this autumn. We are also planning on adding a little extra item for everyone buying a copy of the book... More news in the forthcoming days! 10/20/2014 1 Comment Southend Book and Arts fair video! There is a short interview with Carya Gish around 4mn10s. She was caught unawares and is camera-shy, and therefore she hadn't prepared for her little speech... Have a good look though, some very interesting people are being interviewed and there are some great shots of the Matt ArtPix/Arcane Publishing stall at the beginning of the video! 10/18/2014 0 Comments The Book of Thoth - final cover! The Book of Thoth should be going to the printers by the end of next week. We are waiting for their quote to finalise everything. Almost done!

The Book of Thoth is being finalised this week and should go to the printers next week! We cannot wait to see the books... Don't forget that we will be attending three events in the forthcoming months, where you will be able to purchase copies of I Am a Muse and possibly of The Book of Thoth if the books are back from the printers on time for Old Spitalfields and Gravesend. In the meantime, go over to Miss Gish's blog, where you will be able to look at pictures of Dorset where her third novel, The Right Place, will be set. You can also read live music reports - one should go up tomorrow and there will be another one over the weekend... And we had a meeting in London today... And it was really interesting and most importantly successful. Some exciting news about the future of Arcane Publishing might be forthcoming in the New Year. Watch this space! In the meantime, there is much to do and much to learn... On Wednesday evening, we picked up our local newspaper and here were were! This was a spread covering The Southend Book and Arts Fair we attended at The Forum in Southend... We are definitively not "naturals" but it's ok! In other news, today we have posted a copy of I Am a Muse to the USA! This is the first copy of the book to go out there, so we are thrilled!
