8/28/2014 The Book of Thoth... coming soon! The second proofs of The Book of Thoth have landed on Miss Gish's desk and will be checked in the forthcoming days. Things are looking really good!
We have added a cast of characters and a lovely map of Whitemoor Hall so readers can find their way around the estate. Also, in the story, Dimitri, one of the main characters, spends his time drawing maps of the house; we thought it would be a rather nice touch to add our own map to the book! 8/22/2014 Terror and WonderThe British Library has an exhibition about Gothic Literature on from 6th October to 20th January 2015, Terror and Wonder: The Gothic Imagination.
Our second novel, The Book of Thoth, is a Gothic Novel, and will be published this autumn... Perfect timing, we say! And of course, we will go... Miss Gish is now starting work on Book 3, The Right Place, set in Dorset. Read her blog about it HERE!
We have a draft publishing schedule for the book, but lack of funds might mean that this will have to be amended. As it stands, we are aiming for a pub date of November 2017 (!). This is the optimistic schedule, by the way. Lack of funds might force us to change this on the way. On our short break over the weekend, we found the perfect display background for the promotion of The Book of Thoth. Apparently, it does genuinely come from Egypt (i.e probably a tourist market around sharm el-sheikh)! But we were on the lookout for something that would spice up our stall when we get the printed copies back from the printers, and this looked like the ticket. So it's coming to a stall near you this autumn! 7/21/2014 The Book of Thoth is on schedule!Yesterday, Matt ArtPix finished the typesetting of The Book of Thoth. Now it's Miss Gish's turn to read through and make a few corrections and adjustments. Matt ArtPix will now finish off the cover design and we hope to have everything ready to go to the printers around 25th September after our much deserved holiday! We are on schedule, and it is getting very exciting! The book looks terrific!

6/23/2014 A new literary festival for Southend!Southend is getting a new, cool and swaggering literary festival, with a pilot taking place at this year's Village Green festival.
A fabulous line-up of writers and musicians, the Dragnet tent will be the coolest place to be on the day! Read all about it on Miss Gish's blog HERE! 6/11/2014 Alchemical symbolsApparently, the French town where Miss Gish grew up was a big centre for alchemy ! This series of intriguing symbols are located in a cul-de-sac named "l'impasse du chat" (the cat's cul-de-sac).
Sign 3 shows John Dee's Monas Hieroglyphica, which features in our second novel, The Book of Thoth. Carya Gish now has an author page on the Squid Publishing Inc website!
We are thrilled to be in such good company: Ignite Books, Steve Pottinger and Joolz Denby are on there as well! 4/24/2014 Book number five: some fresh ideas...Carya Gish has just had an idea for Book number 5! Head to her website to read all about it! (and yes, the The Hound of the Baskervilles cover is related to the blog!)
