 We can hardly believe that it has been a whole year since the previous edition of Is It All Black+White? (read a little report about it HERE). This year, the festival is coming back in a more central location - and what location: St Leonard's Church in trendy Shoreditch! The list of musicians is varied and a little bird has told me that there might even be some exciting surprises! There will also be some stalls, including Arcane Publishing and Matt ArtPix! We have been working hard on our stock and we think we have some great stuff for you. Scroll down to see the full Arcane Publishing stock for this event!  Location, location, location: Perfect for this particular event, we will have copies of Miss Gish's first novel, I Am a Muse, which is partly set in Shoreditch and features an arts centre and a club night! For the surfers among you, a big chunk of the novel takes place near the surfing beaches of Cornwall... Of course, we will also bring along copies of Miss Gish's second novel, The Book of Thoth, for those of you who fancy a Gothic tale set in the 1920s.  As fellow indie publisher Ignite Books couldn't attend, we are bringing copies of their fantastic books with us! They are all fantastic reads!  Last year, we at Arcane had the honour of helping Johnny Navarro (of cult band Devilish Presley) publish his debut novel. Arcane designer Matt ArtPix did a stellar job with the typesetting and the cover design! If you love music, you'll adore Kill Devil Delta, which comes with a 15-track CD! Read Miss Gish's interview with Johnny HERE. In addition to the new books above, we will bring a selection of our stock specially picked for the event! Cinema, music, fashion, music-hall, dance... There's no business like showbusiness! Some of those books are quite rare... And one is signed by the author! The illustrated books from The Enchanted World series are gorgeous (we have 8 more but thought it would be a bit much to take all of them to the event!). The 1985 advert featured Mr Vincent Price! Our stock of books really is diverse! We will also have some 1940s French movie magazines...  We also have three intriguing Soviet Union magazines... ... as well as two beautiful classic Soviet era posters officially reprinted in 1976 (we have been told that these come from Bulgaria, hence the illegible stamps!) We will have vinyls too! All 1960s/1970s... And all bar one or two are French imports! 8/10/2016 Back soon!The Arcane team is having a break.  It has been quiet on here for a while; it doesn't mean nothing is happening though!
Matt ArtPix and Miss Gish are plotting the next phase for Arcane Publishingand Matt ArtPix and sorting out budgets, nothing really fun at all! But we can already announce that we will have a stall at the fantastic FREE festival Is It All Black and White? at St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch, London, on September 10th 2016! We will post more details about the event and details about our stock for the day on here soon! In other news, Miss Gish will resume work on her third novel The Right Place later in August... Good timing, as the novel is inspired by a PJ Harvey song and the Arcane team will go and see Polly at the Brixton Academy in October! |
