Two weeks ago, we visited our unit at The Customs House in West Bay, Dorset, to put new stock in and have a good sorting out!
Have a look at the Arcane blog HERE and also at Matt ArtPix's great blog about his brilliant new stock [read it HERE].
We will be back there next Tuesday for a flash visit and I will be dropping off some new stock for the already full-to-bursting children's books basket!
After all, it's almost the holidays and you will need to keep those kids entertained!
Our first item is a 2003 edition of Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden, which is to become a West End musical this summer (you can buy tickets for the run at The Ambassadors theatre HERE).
Madeline and the Bad Hat by Ludwig Bemelmans was first published as a limited autographed edition in 1956. Unfortunately, this edition is only the softback 1984 edition. Still, it is an enchanting book!
There is even an animated version!
Also on our shelves from Tuesday will be a perfect copy of Brian Selznick's The Invention of Hugo Cabret, a really beautiful book with 284 Black and white illustrations!
Below is the trailer of the acclaimed 2011 movie Hugo, inspired by the book (which I still haven't seen... It is on my long list!)
And I will also add two small paperback copies of two classics: Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows and Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island (the latter with a cover featuring Charlton Heston and Christian Bale from the 1990 movie adaptation - see trailer below).
Arcane Publishing is a small independent imprint with a passion for beautiful books.
